Welcome to Gurkha Nepalese Community Derby
At Gurkha Nepalese Community Derby, we are dedicated to fostering a sense of unity and support within the Nepalese community in Derby.
Join us in our mission to celebrate our culture and heritage.
Our Focus

Cultural Promotion
The Nepali diaspora in the UK has also had a substantial cultural impact, with an increasing number of British people taking an interest in Nepali culture, language, and cuisine. Events such as the annual Gurkha Cup, a football tournament that brings together Gurkha regiments from across the UK, and various Nepali cultural festivals, have become popular among both the Nepali community and the wider British public.
We organise events and activities that promote cultural awareness and education among the new generations. These initiatives create opportunities for families to engage in traditional practices together, reinforcing a sense of belonging.

Support on Diversity & Inclusion
The Gurkha Nepalese Community in Derby is a diverse and vibrant community that has made significant contributions to British society over the past two centuries. Despite facing unique challenges, the community has continued to grow and thrive, enriching the UK's cultural landscape and forging strong connections between Nepal and the UK. As the Nepali community continues to expand and integrate into British society, it will be essential to recognise and celebrate their valuable contributions and ensure that they have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for continued success.
